Chicken Wrangling

This post is a little late, but we got the chickens out onto the pasture converting our succulent cover crop into deliciously healthy meat and fertilizer for the hoop-houses we’ll hopefully be putting up in a few weeks. It looks simple enough, but I owe some specific thanks to my dad, Dave Dudley, and especially to RJ Ewing–who came all the way from western Oregon to help us get up and running. And, he came only a couple of weeks before his wedding to another dear friend of ours Ella Deck. Congratulations to you both and good luck tomorrow. We wish we could be there, but hope to see you and your family all soon!

RJ was a huge help in getting the tractors built and helping us set-up shop out at the farm. The chickens are out now and will be available for sale in a few short weeks. Place your pre-orders now by phone or email or with an official order-form. Fresh birds will be available Friday, July 18th during Pizza Night at Stoney Acres or on Saturday the 19th at the Wausau Farmers Market.  Any unordered birds will be available frozen on-farm until they’re gone.
